Add a signature area to a PDF
Add a signing line with a caption and an empty signature field, so the form is ready to sign in a reader like Adobe Acrobat — or place an image of your drawn or typed signature.
Two different things
- A signature field: an empty field that readers with signing support (such as Acrobat Reader) let the recipient sign digitally.
- A signature image: a picture of your drawn or typed signature placed on the page.
Important
A signature image is not a cryptographic digital signature, and PDFQuick Forms doesn't provide identity verification, consent records or audit trails. Whether an image signature is acceptable depends on who you're sending the document to. For legally binding e-signature workflows, use a dedicated e-signature service.
Frequently asked questions
Can people sign the signature field in their browser?
Browser PDF viewers usually show signature fields but can't sign them. Adobe Acrobat Reader can.
