Add checkboxes to a PDF
Turn printed check squares into real, clickable checkboxes — or add radio buttons when only one answer is allowed.
Checkboxes vs radio buttons
Use checkboxes when someone may tick any number of options (“Select all that apply”). Use radio buttons when only one option in a group can be chosen (“Yes / No”). In PDFQuick Forms, radio buttons with the same group name are mutually exclusive.
Speed it up
If the PDF already shows ☐ symbols, Auto-detect fields can suggest checkboxes in the right places. Select a checkbox and press Ctrl+D to duplicate it.
Frequently asked questions
Can a checkbox be required?
Yes. Readers like Acrobat will warn when a required field is empty; not every reader enforces it.
